communityI’ve been using Adobe Captivate for over a decade now, and have always faced one big challenge. If I had to get an answer to a question, find the steps to troubleshoot an issue, learn a new Captivate skill, or learn about some time-saving tips and tricks, I had to literally explore the web to find the resources. Chances were that I would find them at one or more of these places: Adobe Captivate blog, blog pages hosted by the Captivate experts, Captivate forum, Captivate help pages, LinkedIn groups, Facebook page, YouTube channel, Lynda.com courses, and the list goes on. There’s plethora of information and wonderful tips available related to Captivate, but no common platform to access all of it together.

But since last few months, things have changed for good. We now have access to Adobe eLearning community, which brings together the forum questions, FAQs, blog posts by eLearning experts, tutorials, and ability to showcase your work, and share tips and tricks. And icing on the on cake is that along with the ability to access the community portal from any browser, you can also access the Community portal from right inside Adobe Captivate 9. This really helps when you are working on a project, and need instant help. Just click the Community button on the toolbar and you can access the Community portal right away. Then, search for the information you are looking for. If you can’t find it, post a new question, and get a reply from one of the Captivate experts. And while you are on the page, you can also explore the unanswered questions and post your answers to give back to the community. You can also write a blog post, share some quick tips, write testimonials, or upload/embed a video tutorial to broadcast the information to all the Captivate users. It’s that simple!

The eLearning Community gives each user a personalized experience. You will see the content that is most relevant to you. It also recognizes your contribution to the community by offering points for different activities. These points add up and help you achieve levels. On reaching the higher level, you get some nice incentives, like complimentary licenses, invitation to speak at the webinars, and invitation to speak at live Adobe events.

It’s now easier than ever to engage with Captivate users. If you’ve not yet explored the Adobe eLearning Community, I invite you to join all the awesome Captivate folks here!

Happy Captivating! 🙂
